Chapter Seven

Standing amidst the white puffy clouds trundling with her tiny foots, a cute little girl in white fluffy knee-length dress was playing happily. A shining crown on her head made her look like a princess or she was actually a princess. As I saw her wings coming out of her tiny shoulders, I realized it’s me… trying to fly like an angel from the fairytale until somebody shouted, “Mili! Mili! C’mon, wake up, you’re getting late…” I opened my eyes for a second and closed again as I met the reality of my mom shouting at me. “Argh! It was obviously a dream” I murmured as mom left. I opened my eyes and looked out of the window. The sky was gravel-gray with clouds covering the sky, the trees were growing young again with green leaves all over them, the mud on the ground was wet giving fresh earthy smell and birds were chirping everywhere. It was a beautiful morning. As mom shouted again, I ran to the washroom. I was late for the school for the very first time. Well, I wasn’t shocked; a lot of first-timers happened, lately.

Everything changed during those vacations - my habits, my way of dressing up and hairstyle too. When I stayed home for months instead of playing in the dirt outside, I started to lose my tan with an extreme pace uncovering the hidden truth of my life. I’d inherited my mother’s undeniable charm and glorious beauty. I couldn’t accept it myself becoming a girl and that too, a beautiful one. But, I felt good.

I wore an above knee length short navy blue platted skirt and tucked-in white shirt with a belt and a navy blue tie, white colored short socks such that my fair clean legs are visible and black polished shoes. Basically, that was my modified school uniform. I looked myself in the mirror twice by setting my shoulder length hairs properly as this was the first time when I grew my hair so long. While I was involved in the joy of scanning myself, I noticed something weird.

My nipples were bumping out of my white shirt even though I was wearing an inner-wear inside the shirt. I quickly removed my tie and shirt to check if everything was alright. It cannot be true… No! No! It should not be happening to me.The first sight of bumps on my nipples made me sad, nervous, embarrassed, and extremely irritated. I could definitely let anybody notice this change in me. I wore a thick t-shirt inside my uniform to hide that tender thing. Finally, I heaved a sigh of relief and left for school. But I could control my blabbering head, “Stop thinking too much. Think of something more valuable. C’mon Tiya. Probably, I gained fat as I stayed for long at home, it will be fine now once I start going to school.”

I had been home for an entire summer. At least now I would be able to play at school and focus on studies so that I grow in my career.
